Safe at Home Productions
has been bringing quality music to Waycross, Georgia for over two decades.
Founder of the Annual Gram Parsons Guitar Pull and Tribute Festival,
Uncle Dave Griffin hosted a backyard musical get-together of about 20 pickers, singers, friends, and acquaintances over Thanksgiving weekend in 1998.
By 2001, the crowd of music lovers had grown to over 200 and in '02, the first
open-to-the-public Guitar Pull took place on a honky-tonk stage in Waycross.
From there, the homegrown festival grew organically, being held annually in mid-October at the Okefenokee Fairgrounds with National, Regional, and Local Entertainment, Food and Craft Vendors, and Onsite RV / Primitive Camping.
As fate would have it, the popular music festival returns to it's roots in 2026.
Back to Uncle Dave's backyard where it all began!
In 2011, due to the popularity of the Guitar Pull, a second festival was born.
Held the first weekend of May, Swamptown Getdown highlights the
eclectic original musical styles grown in the southeastern U.S. ranging from
Funk, Reggae, Electronica, and Jam to Bluegrass, Americana, Indie, and Blues.
With the assistance of a fine staff, courteous volunteers, and generous sponsors,
Safe at Home Productions
invites you to share our love of music in a laid-back festival atmosphere.
They're the best little music festivals you've never been to!
